- Pay attention to prerequisites in square brackets [...]!!!
- Area Foundation Courses are highlighted. Where offered, they are good choices for students seeking exposure to an Area, and they are required for students electing a two-or-more-course Concentration in the Area. For the Solid-State Devices and Integrated Circuits area, either ECE 162 or ECE 163L may be taken as the Foundation Course; if both courses are taken, they both count as Concentration Courses for that area.
- EE Concentration Requirement: Four courses selected from the above set of Areas and Area courses, with courses elected in at least two Areas and at least two courses from the same Area. For those who prefer numerical mnemonics, any of the following are acceptable: 3+1, 2+2, 2+1+1.
- Semesters a course is normally offered (Fall, Spring, Summer), enrollment permitting, are indicated in parentheses (with alt indicating every other academic year, or possibly less frequently). Summer sections are not offered every year; students wishing to take an ECE course during the summer should check availability with the ECE DUS during the spring semester. Students should plan course programs with conservative forethought to meet degree requirements.
- Prerequisites are indicated in square brackets. Equivalents and exceptions should be discussed with the instructor.
- The same course may not be used to complete a concentration requirement and count as a required Design Course.
- Control Systems and Robotics is approved as a separate area of concentration through 2008. Thereafter, ECE 141 may be taken as an ECE Elective or as part of the Signal Processing, Communications and Control Systems concentration; ECE 142 may be taken as an ECE Elective.
